Water professionals from around the region are partnering with national water organizations and the Environmental Protection Agency to mark the 40th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the landmark legislation that protects public drinking water. The Toast to Tap celebration will highlight the value of safe, reliable water services for public health and a strong regional economy. The event is open to the public and will take place in the beautiful Park at CityCenter on Thursday, October 2, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This free, fun-filled event will feature local food vendors, hands-on activities, giveaways and the always-popular ‘water bar.’ Entertainment will be provided by the District-based band, Levi Stephens and the Working Class. Officials from the Environmental Protection Agency and event organizers will lead a “toast to tap water” to celebrate the importance of safe water in our community.

Visuals include ceremonial “toast to tap water” at 1 p.m. in reusable water bottles on the event stage. Photo opportunities will be available with the DC Water mascot and local leaders serving water from behind the water bar.
