Thanksgiving is an opportunity to reflect on, and appreciate our many blessings. We are thankful for our dedicated staff—the men and women who work tirelessly day in and day out to ensure the flow of life’s most important resource—our beautiful, historic city, and most of all, we are thankful for the inspiring community who we are lucky to serve. 

Dashai Morton is a 6^th grade student at North Forestville Elementary who asked DC Water to help her birthday wish come true. Last month, Dashai, a bright student and skilled football player, witnessed the devastation wrought by the recent natural disasters, and felt compelled to help. In lieu of birthday gifts, Dashai asked family, friends, and the community to help her collect donations to provide relief for the victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

Inspired and humbled by her selflessness, Team Blue rose to the occasion and happily supported her #ProjectGiveback initiative. The Authority contributed over 170 cases of bottled water and enough non-perishable food to feed families for several weeks. 

From all of us here at DC Water—we are incredibly grateful for Dashai and our community that inspire us, and make us proud to serve the public.
